Remember This

Remember the feeling of a warm summer day

When our spirits were free and without decay,

Remember the careless laughs and sleepless nights

Before the frequent and enduring fights,

When the days lasted forever and nights carried on

So did our hopes, despair forgone,

Forget not the times that we clung to each other

For in those moments, we found another,

Hold onto those moments with your life

As you battle through the strife,

Time is short and all will fade

Even the egos that we played,

Do not despair, for it is but a game

At the end, we are all the same,

Death is coming, that is certain

But life must be lived to see beyond the curtain,

I beg of you and I plead with care

Don’t wait for tomorrow to clear the air,

We came into this world seeking a place

And here we found it, amidst the race

As we came, so must we leave

And those remaining, left to bereave,

Let go of control and give it away

For there is nothing to keep in the universal array,

Speak your mind and dance by the fire

Relinquish control and give up desire.
