All Revealed in Time

There should be no rush in life, at least externally that is. When it comes down to it, what truly matters is the life we live internally, in our heads. Why? Because it is that internal quality of life that dictates how we interact with the world. When there is internal peace, it is much easier to bring about external peace. Where there is inner turmoil, the same result will manifest itself in the world around us. The most shocking part is that the small corner of the world that we interact with rarely changes with any significance, further backing the idea that life is lived mainly through perception and not the face value of events which we internalize the meaning or significance of.

In the same way that we should try to keep our reality based on the perceptions we create – and how we create them – there is also no hurry to share every victory and trial of our life. Not because doing so would necessarily cause an unfavourable reaction, but simply because it brings about no benefit to us and often comes with a cost to others. The mark we will leave on people is ultimately not what we did or how we did it, but how we made them feel – an expression that requires no merit or validation.

We’ll often shy away from an embarrassing detail of life but continually look for opportunities to promote the great things that we’re doing. This comes from a need for acceptance, to be seen in a certain light by people, including many people we don’t even particularly care to keep close in our lives.

Withholding information, especially when asked, also doesn’t generally appear to bring out the best in a situation, but it seems our aim should be to remain constant in one’s state, moving with the ebbs and flows of life, not putting too much thought or concern to any one circumstance that arises. Looking back at our past experiences, it’s easy to give ourselves advice now: “don’t worry, it’s all going to be just fine.”

You see, every obstacle that we came across in younger years, even ones that proved too difficult to overcome at a certain time, failed to stop us in our mission to live and love. Sure, they may have caused frustrations and anxieties, but looking at where we are now, was everything not destined to work out fine? Even amidst an accumulation of scars and terrors, we made it through ok. If we can find even one perfect moment today, where the world stands still for us and all worry is set aside, we can rest assuredly that we can always be ok – it’s just a matter of our perception.
