In how fast life can go by at times, it’s easy to succumb to trying to fit more and more things into our lives. Given the short time frame we have and the limited number of activities we can do, we try to achieve a greater efficiency with our tasks in an effort to fit more in.
This becomes a detractor when we begin doing tasks simply because we believe we should be doing more, or when we perceive that we will receive greater gratification in the future.
The anecdote to this is slowing down and appreciating what we’re doing right now. Still striving for more, yes, but not sacrificing any enjoyment of the present in doing so.
Take things a little bit slower, look around every now and then, and take the time to really connect with people. After all, we don’t know when our last chance to do any of those things will be.
