The Joy of Transience

Life, as we all experience it, is fragile. Every precious moment, every beautiful connection, every laugh shared come into our experience and leave just as naturally as an ocean wave on a beach. Approaching in no hurry; calm, intentional, and serene. Leaving the same; free, fluid, and detached.

In the same way that nature occurs in perfect harmony, so can we as humans in a shared experience. Running the course of life, not rushing anything, and allowing it all to flow as it is intended.

The tragedy arises when we lose ourselves. When we get absorbed in the larger wave and feel like we have no control. Fighting and thrashing, we desperately seek to reclaim our autonomy. Metaphorically, we look to smooth the ripple with our hand, not realizing that, left to its own nature, everything will be as it should.

Accepting these truths of morality and constant change are the keys to a life of liberation and joy. No longer bound by the constraints of desire and preference, we begin to participate in the primal movement of life.

Allow yourself to move as the wave. At certain times unknowing and afraid, but at all times, fully participative in the nature that is you.
