We are not meant to remain static in our values and behaviours. In some cases, a retention of the same values over a long period of time can be a sign of developmental regress, often characterized by a proclivity to familiar comforts.
As each season passes, so too do our preferences, what we value and who we choose to surround ourselves with. At each turn in the road, we’re given the opportunity to start fresh with the compiled activities and relationships that we call life.
Uncertainty can be intimidating, but remaining in the same form holds a greater likelihood of regret or remorse. While difficult to undertake, change can catalyze action in the ideas and directions we’ve suppressed and give us the energy and motivation to shape our lives for the better.
And while provisionary preferences are fine, remember that all paths lead to the same place at each new beginning.
