Fear exists only as long as we allow it to prevent us from doing what we want. Once we take action and attempt to do something, the angst subsides considerably. Sure, it can still be uncomfortable to pursue something unknown, but the paralyzing fear that holds us back from chasing our dreams and causes our mind to justify inaction or avoidance will be gone – we will have proven that we can overcome the unknown.
In fact, having a sense of fear can almost serve as a sign that something is worth pursuing, especially if there is no immediate tangible loss to attempting. Assuming we’re honest with ourselves, our gut will never lead us astray. The only things that will hold us down will be our contrived aspirations for approval and acceptance.
Face fear head-on and let nothing stop you from going after whatever you want. As I’ve said time and time again, the pain of failure or discomfort hurts far less than the pain of regret.
