Comparison is our most commonly used criteria. We assess any performance against how well someone else did it, or we compare a current situation to one from the past.
Ultimately, this provides no benefit to us, and can often detract from an experience. Comparison, in this context, is most useful for ensuring that we are on a path that we want to be on. From that, we can look at where we were yesterday, and look at how today is moving us closer to a desired result.
For the purpose of enjoying life, comparison is the enemy. Look at each day and each moment through a fresh, new perspective, free from judgement and without comparison. In this is where true, unattached enjoyment lies.
