From the earliest ages of childhood, we are taught that there are certain desirable characteristics, and certain traits that we must not give in to.
This is quite inarguable when we look at acts of malicious intent, where some sort of suffering or victim is involved as a result of the behaviour in question. However, society’s taboo on certain behaviour extends further, to things teetering on the precipice of “weird”, “strange”, or “unbecoming”.
To restrain from causing pain and suffering is without question virtuous and righteous, but to hold back from behaviours that don’t fall into that category is simply unnatural. They are just as much a part of the human experience as the publicized and mimicked qualities we see at every street corner and on every magazine cover. Intrinsically, no better or no worse. Just different.
Listen to the voice that tells you to break free from the shackles of society, for with freedom comes the gateway to a new form of life. A form that is as natural and beautiful as any other. A form that without, we cease to exist in the same way.
