Within the regular course of our day to day life, we miss out on so much of the beauty that exists around us. Be it at dawn or dusk, with sunshine or rain, beauty is always waiting for us, the beholder.
Given our propensity, particularly in first-world countries, to take circumstance for granted, the simplest enjoyments tend to dissipate as time passes. Forgetting the transitoriness of this life, what was once a scene that invoked boundless and unconstrained emotion becomes reduced to a mere cog in the cycle of a day.
Separating ourselves from these illusions and expectations, the beauty once again emerges in our eyes. Everything external remains the same, but the way we perceive it changes. Like this, so too can we interpret events of life in a different context. Where perhaps a memory brings about a negative emotion, a mental reframing of the experience can change the entirety of our view on it.
Don’t take this moment for granted, take the time to soak it in, and remember that with everything in life, there will come a day when we do something for the last time.
